Former Avocado Design creative director Tony Casson has joined Liverpool agency Sphere Design.
“When the opportunity arose to join an established, experienced and creative agency that has a great pedigree in servicing some fantastic brands, I jumped at the chance to become part of such an exciting team - working on such brands as Planters, Big D, Spam, Mission Foods and Uncle Joe's.”
Tony moves to Sphere, which specialises in FMCG packaging and design, following a two-year spell working in-house for cosmetics company FB Beauty.
Before that he had been at Manchester-based Avocado for 18 years, working with clients including Turtle Wax and PZ Cussons.
Casson said working client-side - where he leant his design skills to cosmetics, beauty products and toiletries - had been a "great learning experience" but he missed agency life.

Tony comes into a successful line up, joining recent acquisition and fellow striker Joanna Davenport up front. Davenport has had spells at ‘The Core’ and ‘Blue (Square) Marlin’ as well as a season out on loan in Australia earlier in her career.
Sphere also look to welcome back Kerry Wilson in February after a spell on the sidelines with Maternity. Sphere's first team coach Nik Davis said “Frankly we’re over the moon to have brought in Tony and Davo and we’re taking it one project at a time. I think we now have that great blend of youth and experience.”
